Morialta Secondary College – North Building

Precise Digital Construction was handed the task of providing steel detailing for this large-scale school project located in South Australia.  The new public secondary school is being built to meet growing enrolment demand in Adelaide’s northeastern suburbs & when complete, it will cater to 1200 students from year 7 to 12. The college will be delivered in a staged approach with facilities for year 7’s operational for 2023, and the remainder of the facilities completed for the 2024 academic year. With a short turn around and design changes still being made on the fly this added to the degree of difficulty for this project. We needed to be able to hit critical dates with our steel detailing team working closely with the client providing BIM models via Trimble Connect. With timeframe and ongoing changes, we had to have our entire 7-man team working across the project to ensure we kept on track with Architectural and Engineering reviews coming through so we could provide our client with a smooth flow of fabrication packages. All 3D modeling, marking plans, assemblies, checklist and NC data was carried out by our in-house team of Tekla Draftsman.
